HHQI Releases New Depression BPIP

Clinicians require skill sets and strategies to assist patients to measure, manage, and monitor depressive symptoms. HHQI's new Depression Management Best Practice Intervention Package (BPIP) is designed to provide evidence-based information, tools, and resources related to depression for community-based settings such as home health.
Evidence-based information on anxiety and anxiety disorders is included because research demonstrates depression and anxiety often occur together.

This new BPIP emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to care, and as with all HHQI materials, its development has been funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). All tools and resources are provided at no cost.
Nurses who successfully complete the corresponding Depression Management course in HHQI University will earn 3.5 hours of free continuing education (CE) credit. CEs have been approved by the Alabama State Nurses Association, an accredited approver of the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). To receive CE credit, participants must read the Depression Management BPIP, watch a 10-minute multimedia module, and complete an additional 20 minutes of related coursework in HHQI University.
